County seat - Vukovar

Vukovar is located at the confluence of the Vuka and Danube. The city is known to have been inhabited in Neolithic times. The Vučedol culture is the best known, dating from 2150 to 1800 BC. The city itself is first mentioned in 1131 AD as “Castrum Vaklow.” Vukovar is the largest Croatian river port.
In Croatian-Serbian war in 1991 Vukovar was the most destroyed town. 80% of all buildings are damaged or destroyed Many people was killed or missed with thousands refugees. Renewal and building fixing is not finished yet.

The County of Vukovar-Srijem is the farthest eastern Croatian county. It covers 2444 km. and contains a population of about 232,000. This was one of the heavily damaged counties, with the city of Vukovar and all its cultural monuments completely destroyed in the war. This is a county of forest and fertile farmland, of navigable rivers and major highways which allow for the development of industry, traffic, trade and culture. Total arable land covers an area of 155,000 ha., of which 147,000 ha. are suitable for the cultivation of wheat, corn, sunflower, sugar beet and tobacco. The building industry is strong in Vukovar-Srijem, as is the processing of leather and manufacturing of leather goods. Of particular value to Croatia are the oil and natural gas sources in Đeletovci.

Bridge on the Vukovar's University Lavoslav Ruzicka

This year Bridge will be an optional subject in the Vukovar University. To bridge and economics have much in common and useful for future economists and managers proved successful last year when the "experimental" tried and tested joint lecture on some issues and economics, especially in decision-making and bridge as a partner, board games. It was decided to expand this year and part-time students, and in the future we hope that the bridge be elective for other students. as a good and useful manner that is because managers total of 45 hours.  In addition to tests, examinations will be like last year, held online through BBO, a unique way of examination, proved to be very interesting and good way of testing knowledge.  The Internet will be used more this year in lectures and exercises.
